Cooee uses software (VoIP) to connect Global telco infrastructure to the internet. This allows Cooee to route calls and SMS to your Aussie mobile number to any web based browser or the Cooee app. No SIM card required! All you need is an internet connection and we’ll take care of the rest. Of course we will provide you with a new number while you wait so you can use all the Cooee functionality from day 1.
Yes Cooee is an application that you can download via Apple and Play Stores.
No, you do not. Our application will take care of this.
The Cooee app works exactly like a regular SIM card. All you need is an internet connection and all calls and SMS to your new Cooee mobile number will be routed through the Cooee app.
Absolutely! Please be aware the transfer of numbers can take up to 10 business days depending on jurisdiction and requires that you provide details on your existing contract in line with porting requirements of the country you are purchasing the number for. Please contact our support team and we will support the creation of a porting request.
Absolutely. You are able to port out to any domestic carrier. Simply raise a port out request via our portal and we will provide you with the necessary details.
Cooee works the same way as a dual SIM would. Pick and choose which number you want to use and simply use dialling and SMS features native to your device. Cooee runs in the background and if you receive a communication from anyone you’ll receive it the way you receive a WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger call.
You can receive calls and SMS on both Cooee and a traditional SIM. The only difference is that the Cooee app requires an internet connection.
Cooee uses a Wi-Fi or 3G/4G/5G data connection on your handset or tablet to ensure excellent digital sound quality. We do our best to configure audio based on your internet connection. From time to time you may experience a drop off in quality, particularly in areas where network coverage isn’t strong, and we suggest changing locations or switching to Wi-Fi to get the best out of the service.
Yes! Cooee works exactly like a second phone number, just without the SIM card! You can manage SMS and call notifications and access as if it were your work phone. Divert to voicemail. Ignore/block certain people.
Unfortunately Cooee does not support calling emergency numbers in order to avoid the use of national emergency numbers from outside the country your Cooee number is local to. Your local SIM cards should be used to make emergency calls.
You will not recieve any notifications when offline, but once you do come online, you will see all your missed calls and texts on the app.
Nope. Initially you will be asked to select your number from a list, prior to inputting payment details.
Unfortunatley right now we do not provide data services. Our service rides off existing data plans in your home country. While we would love to include data in our plans at this stage we are focusing on giving you the best telecommunications experience we can. But you can keep an eye out for a future update enabling data services soon!
While VPN's usually do disrupt VOIP connections, Cooee uses advanced protocols to sustain connectivity in most instances. While we can't guarantee a perfect connection on all occasions, we are confident our product will support most use cases.
Cooee is a subscription service. As long you have fulfilled your the terms of your subscription, you may terminate your Cooee account. If you wish to terminate your account, please contact Support and we will cancel your subscription immediately. You will have full access to your Cooee number for the remainder of the month.

You can contact customer support for cancellation of subscription, however once a number has been allocated to your account we will not be able to offer a refund.

We offer a monthly and annual plans for Cooee (typically for one number at a time) For our Cooee Advanced plan you can use up to two numbers interchangeably. All options include credit for call and text.
In your welcome email you will have a link where you can manage your subscription and cancel at anytime. Alternatively you can contact support and we will close your account for you.
No, your Cooee number will appear in the same way as any other mobile or landline number. You can even hide caller ID if you would like to remain anonymous.
Yes, Cooee uses your personal data for fulfilling the KYC requirements of each country's communication regulations. Cooee does not sell, or export your personal information, all personal information stored by Cooee is for purposes disclaimed to you in our terms and conditions. If you have any further questions around use of personal data we suggest you review our Data Privacy Policy here.
Sensitive customer data is encrypted and stored securely in line with best practice data security standards. We take data protection and privacy seriously and make every effort to protect your personal information.
You can submit a request to delete personal data via the support menu on the application, or via the account dashboard from the website. Certain data will need to be retained for Regulatory reasons however

Yes you can, depending on the plan you choose. The Lite plan only has the option to buy one number while the Advanced number has the option to buy two numbers.

We are working hard to expand our number offering. Stay tuned, as we add more countries to our inventory we will notify you. If you need a number for a specific country not on the list please contact our support team and we will let you know whether we have plans to offer in the near future.
Our numbers are reserved for 10 mins after selection so that no-pne can access the number before you complete your subscritpion. This is so we don't sell the same number to 2 different people, and that everyone has equal access to the inventory. Don't worry, if your 10 minutes are up, you can extend the reservation timer!
Know your Customer (KYC) regulatory requirements help to reduce phone number fraud and identitty theft. Our processes are designed to follow the rules in each country where we offer number services.
We try to make this as painless as possible, with the minimum number of steps. The good news is all of this can be completed via our mobile application and it generally takes less than 5 minutes. There are some makrets where advanced KYC is required, and for these there may be additional steps incl. address verification.
No, we only do this for countries who have advanced identification requirements.

Yes you can change the email ID associated with your account.
The number will not be available for calls or SMS. You can easily top up the balance via your customer dashboard.
If your plan expires your subscription will be suspended and you will lose access to our service. This includes communication history.
We are obliged to investigate complaints. As part of our review process we may refer to local regulatory bodies for further review to comply with our regulatory obligations.
If you plan on travelling, it pays to set up a Cooee service before you leave home travel to make sure you are up and running as fast as possible. There’s nothing worse than not being able to access a bank account when you need it most.
Make sure you are providing valid and approved forms of ID when you sign up. Legally we need to ensure it’s really you when you request a number and register your details. Failure to do so may lead to application rejection or suspension.
Check your internet connection! 99% of the issues we see with VOIP relate to scratchy WIFI or poor reception.
Make sure you have the latest IOS or Android system updates installed on your device. We endeavour to keep up to date with latest security updates but we need you to do the same or it may lead to performance and connectivity issues
When travelling, make sure to maintain mobile data services for a seamless experience. Going from Wifi to Wifi will work, but if you need active coverage there’s no better way that grabbing a cheap local prepaid sim when you land at the airport.
Similarly if you are heading back and you need to arrange a data pack, reach out and we can list out your options. Please don’t try to maintain a traditional prepaid number while you are abroad.. costs can add up
Avoid providing anyone with you Cooee login details or passwords. Although in terms of physical security Cooee is safer than a traditional SIM in (which can be stolen and inserted into another phone), we need you to be vigilant and ensure your account is secure. If you suspect any fraud or any type of security issue, please contact us immediately and we can investigate and if need be suspend your number.
We ask that you don’t try and use Cooee numbers for mass marketing. These are set up to help you stay connected, and if we start getting complaints from consumers we may be asked to to suspend your service.
